Between Language and Jouissance Princeton: On more specific areas of symptomatology, three books by the aforementioned Darian Leader are worth checking out: A Primer Of Freudian Psychology. It is only in this context that his work can be truly understood and appreciated, insofar as understanding Lacan is possible to begin with.
I enjoy learning from such people. Whilst he divides opinion amongst Lacanians, these two works in particular are a pleasure to read.

I’m already relatively familiar with Lacanian theory, and it’s evident that Fink performs a sort of reduction upon many of the most important concepts in his thought i. Basically to understand and read Lacan, this list recommends not reading Lacan.

I would strongly recommend two of his books, Making Minds and Madness: Lacan Clinicao Blog News. Fink is a decent enough writer, but the Lacanian method he outlines in the book is awful. Lacan was apparently angered by its appearance inat a time when Lacan dominated the French psychoanalytical scene.

Fink has published two: A Psychohistory of Metaphors. This book discusses Lacanian theory as a clinical practice– taking it out of the abstract philsophical realm to explain how it is introudction applied in the field, which is a truly unique endeavor.
In recent years, he has authored mysteries involving a character based on Jacques Lacan: Seeing how Lacanian theory happens in practice makes the finer points of the theory easier to grasp.

A Manual for Clinical Psychodiagnostics does a good job of situating Lacanian psychoanalysis within the wider context of modern mental health treatments, and engaging with them on terms that are their own. I’d love to see more how psychoanalysis can be practically used to aa patients, which we don’t see much of.
