It was a fun read, refreshing in its way after reading one too many camprs, hamfisted story about depressed teenagers, a more lighthearted story about such a heavy topic was sorely neededand I might find myself thinking about it a lot down the line.

The big difference here is that the population is entirely made up of suicides, each person showing the traits of how they offed themselves. Hollywood classically tacked on a happy ending to the movie while the book’s ending is truer to the point of the book: All singular minded and sketchy. What I got from this book is “miracles happen when you least expect them,” and I love it.

Short story lovers, possibly bizarro genre fans, those who like dark humour. Seriously one of the best novellas I’ve ever read.

Keret deals with a difficult to put it as lightly as possible subject, suicide, in a casual, almost nonchalant way but somehow still manages to be sympathetic and even warm.
